Singapore Symphony Orchestra — Conducted by Choo Hoey — Shostakovich (1989 CD) (FCS6851)

A rare and historically significant CD recording by the Singapore Symphony Orchestra (SSO), conducted by its founding Music Director Choo Hoey, featuring works by Dmitri Shostakovich. Recorded in 1989, this release represents a landmark moment in Singapore's classical music history — Choo Hoey led the SSO from its inaugural concert in 1979 and was instrumental in establishing orchestral music as a cultural institution in Singapore. Original SSO recordings from this era on CD are exceptionally scarce and of significant archival and collector value.

An essential acquisition for collectors of Singapore cultural heritage, classical music enthusiasts, and those with an interest in Southeast Asian orchestral history.
