The Antartics — Hey Little Girl / Runaway From Me (Columbia EMI DO-4728)
The Antartics were one of Singapore/Malaysia's pioneering beat groups of the 1960s, riding the wave of the regional garage and beat scene that flourished under EMI's Southeast Asian operations. This ultra-rare 7" EP pressed on the Columbia label (a subsidiary of EMI) features two original tracks penned by S. A. Vinton, capturing the raw energy of early Malayan pop rock.
Both tracks — Hey Little Girl (Side A) and Runaway From Me (Side B) — are credited to S. A. Vinton, and the pressing carries the catalogue number DO-4728 / 7ACT3399, issued and recorded by Electric & Musical Industries (H.K.) Ltd.
A fascinating piece of regional music history, this copy carries what appear to be original autographs on the inner sleeve — likely band member signatures — alongside the charming childhood scrawlings of a previous owner. A genuine time capsule.
